What's Your Penicillin? My Comfort Food

Yours truly has been down with her first cold in a very, very long time.  In the wee hours of Tuesday morning, I felt my scratchy throat, slight headache and I knew it was going to hit me.  However, on Tuesday, I had an important meeting, in Raleigh, and I just couldn't postpone it.  The drive home was long and painful.  All I wanted to do was to get into bed, have a cup of tea and a nice piece of toast with strawberry jam.  My "Mom, I'm sick...can you make me something?", comfort food.

Everyone had suggestions for me and Bob on what I could take to cure what ails me.  Everything from whiskey, chicken soup, honey and Greek penicillin was recommended.  I liked the thought of Greek penicillin, and I can't tell you how thrilled I was when Bob came home with a quart of the delicious goodness, without knowing I wanted some.  We definitely have that "connection."

When Bob brought me my dinner I was surprised to see that this was what my friend, Andy, had made for all of us last week.  He's Greek and was brought up working in his family's Greek restaurant.  Courtesy of Andy, I  present Greek Penicillin, with a Chow Bella twist!
